RIP Catherine Gallagher

Rest in Peace Catherine Gallagher.
Out of respect for our neighbors in fahan, the Gallagher family, the club will not open its doors in the morning for skippers briefing. In addition we will be closing the club fairly promptly after the meal and prizegiving in the evening to avoid any disturbance to the family.
Our thoughts and prayers are with Paul and the family at this very difficult time.

It’s that time of the year again folks – our annual regattas – ‘Swilly Worlds’

Saturday 3 August – Fahan Regatta
7.30am – Registration in the clubhouse followed by 9.30am start in the vicinity of salt pans mark. There will be 2-3 races of Olympic style course. To insure a prompt start we’d advise boats to leave the marina by 8.15am
Following racing we’ll have our annual regatta prizegiving and dinner in the clubhouse with food served at 6:30pm followed by prizegiving and 🥂.
Dinner will be 20euro (over 12 years old) for adults. Children will be €10.
The caterer is the same as we use for the opening day lunch – so we can expect some good food after the racing.
We will need to give numbers to the caterers soon so please get in touch with me asap to secure your food after the racing.
Sunday 4 August – Buncrana Regatta
10am start in vicinity of spit mark with 1 – 2 races to take place. Prizegiving will follow in the white harte after racing.

Further instructions will be available each day from the race committee. The racing may be extended or curtailed on the day depending on weather conditions.
Entry fee is €30 per boat for members and €40 per boat for non members. This is payable on Saturday morning at the skippers briefing and registration in the clubhouse. All boats wishing to race must register.
We will be running racing for the following fleets;
1. IRC – boats holding a valid irc certificate May race in this class. 2. Club – all boats may race in this class. 3. White sails – this fleet is for those who want to enjoy some competition without spinnakers!!!

Noel O’Sullivan – Rest in Peace

Requiem Mass will take place on Saturday 27th July – 12 noon – St.Patricks Church, Pennyburn.
We were very sorry to hear of the tragic death of our long standing member Noel O’Sullivan.
Noel was a very popular character in the club and gave many of our young sailors opportunities to sail and race on big boats. He will be fondly remembered.
Our thoughts and prayers are with his loved ones at this very difficult time.
Rest in Peace.
