Portsalon Bells

Tomorrow sees our Annual portsalon bells kicking off at the start line at Fahan at 9.30am. We will have one long race that should take circa 3-4 hours and finish at spit giving boats the choice to return to Fahan when there’s enough water.
The course for the irc fleet will be
IRC FLEET START FAHAN 9.30AM SPIT – PORT KINNEGAR – S/BOARD SALTPANS – PORT WHITESTRAND – PORT COLPAGH – PORT KINNEGAR – PORT* FLAT – PORT* SPIT – S/BOARD — This would be the finish ,ie as you complete mark rounding and boat is the pointing in a southerly direction in a line with kinnegar
The course for club fleet will be

I remind everyone to take their own times and submit them to a member of the sailing committee after the race. The weather is looking good, hope to see as many boats on the water as possible ⛵️

White Heart Regatta

This Saturday sees our first regatta of 2023. This will consist of 2 races with the first one kicking off at Fahan at 11.30am and finishing at Rathmullan pier. The second race will be a shorter race starting at Rathmullan pier and finishing at Rathmullan.
More instructions will be given on the day, length of courses will depend on the wind conditions.
Afterwards we’ll have a prize giving in the white heart with the view of getting folk back to Fahan by 5pm when there’s enough water.
Should be a great day on the water ⛵️

Try Sailing Event 2023

Lough Swilly Yacht Club will host their annual try sailing event for 2023 on May 20th @ 4.30pm at Lough Swilly Yacht Club, Fahan.
All welcome regardless of experience. This is a great chance for anyone with an interest in sailing to sail aboard a members yacht on lough swilly for an evening. Please note numbers are limited.

LSYC Night At The Races
This Saturday 6th May Lough Swilly Yacht Club 7.45 pm – Doors open Everyone is welcome – it would be great to see you all there for a great night’s craic [🎉]
Proceeds raised on the night will help fund the construction of 2 wells in rural Ethiopia. These wells will bring clean, safe water to hundreds of families, making a life-changing difference! All proceeds are going to this specific project in the Wolisso region of Ethiopia – in two very remote villages.
