Opening Day Lunch Sunday 15 April at 1pm

The Opening Day Lunch will start the Club’s social season on Sunday 15th April in the Clubhouse at 1pm.
Jane and Audrey from our own Cafe B-Calmed are providing catering with a choice of menu  and table service.  The cost per person is €20 or £17 with a charge for kids of €5 or £4. Wine and other beverages will be available from the bar. We all look forward to a great turn out for our  first members’ get-together of the season.

Early Payment Discount

Don’t forget, there is still time to claim 10% discount on your LSYC subscription, for payment before the end of April.

Early payment makes it easier for the committee to manage the club’s running costs – every little helps!

IRC Certificate Deadline!

To all IRC Class owners

The committee has agreed that the deadline for receipt of IRC certificates for 2012 will be 30 April.

All results will be held as provisional until this date to allow everyone to provide their certificate to the Sailing Secretary.

Yachts who competed in Class 1 and whose certificates have not been received by 30 April will be scored as Did Not Compete / Did Not Rank as a Starter.

RORC and ISA require 10 working days to process IRC certificates, so if you haven’t already applied, this week is the deadline!

The Wellesley Coulter Memorial Trophy

This year, the Wellesley Coulter Memorial League Competition will be reintroduced. The trophy will be awarded to the yacht which scores the most points in a league competition during the season, from Opening Day to the last race before the Annual Dinner and Prize-giving. There are no class awards for this competition, only an overall winner.

Points are awarded and accumulated as follows:

  • Every yacht that starts a race scores 2 points
  • Every yacht that finishes a race scores 2 points
  • First boat on handicap (each class) scores 6 points
  • Second boat on handicap (each class) scores 5 points
  • Third boat on handicap (each class) scores 4 points
  • Fourth boat on handicap (each class) scores 3 points
  • Fifth boat on handicap (each class) scores 2 points
  • Sixth boat on handicap (each class) scores 1 points
  • Single yacht in class (start and finish points only)

Example – a yacht finishing 4th is awarded a total of 7 points.

First points can be earned at the Opening Day Race at 12:00 on Saturday 14th April.
