Jumbo makes its Mark

The Hassons have revealed the reason for the absence of their new J24 Jumbo from Lough racing. This note was received over the weekend ……

“I’m sure the membership are getting anxious by our absence…well just to update, We have hauled our new WMD [weapon of mass destruction], Jumbo to Howth YC for the J24 East Ireland Championships which is taking place this weekend. We are delighted to be representing LSYC at the event and will do so at the IRC Nationals at the end of May, also at Howth YC, and the J24 North Ireland Championships at Lough Erne in mid June.

We are also racing in the colours of SeaFest 2012 to help to raise the profile of what is becoming our major regional annual event, and are officially entered as SeaFest 2012 for these events [see the links below for more].

We are ably aided in this endeavour by the youth and talent of Stephen Doherty and the force that is Luke McBride!

We’re hoping for a big impact in our first event but realise that the Dublin crews will enjoy putting us “rural” sailors [as we have been referred to!!] to the sword. Nonetheless, we are prepared to sweat every last drop from our worthless bodies to climb as high up the results page as we can.
