New! – Race Declaration Form

In line with arrangements at many other clubs, this year we are trialling the use of a Race Declaration Form. The form will be used to collect race information and confirm the membership status of all participating sailors. There will be a small fee of 5 EUR (or £5) for visitors wishing to race on members’ boats, and a campaign to encourage interested non-sailors to come along and try crewing.

The first visit is free, and the limit of six races as a visitor has not been changed. If a visitor decides to become a member, they will be entitled to a 50% discount in the first year, and any race levies will also be deducted from their first year subscription.

Race Declaration Forms must be submitted to the Sailing Office in the Clubhouse after racing along with any fees due, and new forms are available on-line and in the clubhouse.

This process will be introduced after the Opening Day Race.

Channel Markers

Hi all ,

Just a quick note to let you know that the channel has now been remarked with orange markers which have reflective tape applied for ease of passage in the dark. They are all port hand buoys 4no in total.

The one on the Bar can found when entering the channel from the North by lining Spit and Salt pans astern…..the rest you already know!

I also want to extend a massive thanks to Dr John McFeely for organizing and executing this. Also to Marine Harvest for supplying and putting these in place last Saturday especially David and Patrick who came out so early on the boat to carry out this work, so if you bump into them in the White Hart remember to show your appreciation.

Regards Kieran McAllister

Opening Day Race

Don’t forget, the opening day race is on Saturday 14th April at 12:00

Cafe B-calmed has planned a pre-race breakfast in the clubhouse, and soup and sandwiches after racing.

With all the great weather for boat preparation, there could be a record turnout!

IRC Certificates please

All Class 1 racing this year will be run under the IRC handicap system, for all yachts holding a valid 2012 certificate.

Would all skippers please send 2012 certificates to the Sailing Secretary, Paul McSorley (paul@mcsorleyp.wanadoo.co.uk) in advance of their first race of the season.

Yachts without valid IRC certificates are eligible to race in Club Class 2 under the performance handicap system.
