Details of the 2011 Summer Sailing School at LSYC are now available on the LSYC web-site, along with a downloadable booking form.
The school will operate between 20 June and 6th August this year, subject to demand, and will again be under the management and supervision of Hettie Sanders, who ran our very successful school last year.

To all IRC Class skippers.
The committee has agreed that yachts with 2010 IRC certificates who have not yet submitted their 2011 Certificate may take part in IRC Class races prior to 30th June. The rating applied will be 2010 rating plus a loading of 5%.
After 30th June, yachts without a valid 2011 certificate will be ineligible to compete in IRC Class.
Please get your IRC certificate to Paul McSorley, Sailing Secretary, without delay!
Hi all
The first ”el classico” of the season kicks off on Saturday with the White Harte Cup. The first chance of silverware and glory!
It hardly feels like a year has passed since Hi-Spirit and Tempo claimed their famous victories. Like bulls to a red flag they were.
Over the last number of years, we have been shown great hospitality by the White Harte, and this year we are welcomed with free berthing at the new pontoon for all participating boats, with a finger food and music reception at the White Harte.
The programme for the day is as follows:
· Racing will start at 11am.
· Racing will consist of 2 olympic style courses, with a short break between races for lunch.
· A starting gate will be established off the rathmullan pier.
· We are aiming to complete racing by 4pm.
· Reception and prize-giving at the White Harte from 4pm to 6pm.
There will be one IRC fleet and one Club Class Fleet. A White Sails fleet may also be established, given sufficient numbers.
In addition to the White Harte Cup event on Saturday, Rathmullan Watersports & Sailing Club are hosting a dinghy race [mixed craft] on the Friday evening, start time approx 7pm.
Last year’s event was of course won by our own Stephen Doherty and it would be a nice start to the weekend if LSYC can take the honours again. RWSC have offered a tow over on the Friday evening for any participants so please get in touch with me if you would like to take part.
The weather appears to be returning to normality for this part of the world, with a good mix of sun, wind and rain expected. Lets hope we get the best of it.

For those that may have been thinking of a trip to the Dublin Boat Show in May, the ISA has just advised that the show has been postponed until February 2012, and will be in RDS.
