Regatta Weekend – Swilly Worlds 30th July – 1st August

I hope you are all looking forward to the big event of the year for us, the Swilly Worlds Regatta Weekend. There will be three regattas in all, the Fahan Regatta on Saturday, the Buncrana Regatta on Sunday and the Rathmullan Regatta on Monday. All are welcome to participate. Details of times for Skippers’ Briefing and racing will be posted on the website later in the week.

Meantime, just get yourself and your boat ready.

And of course, there will be the usual Regatta Disco on Saturday night. There will be a bar meal serve at 7.30pm in the clubhouse, followed by a disco with TICO, all priced at a very reasonable €15. Should be the usual great fun. Again all are welcome and we look forward to seeing you there!

Clipper Event

I have just confirmed that Sir Robin Knox Johnson will be coming to the club today at 12 .
He has agreed to do a Q&A session .
This should be interesting so please come and support the club .

Clipper Information Session Saturday 12.00

The organisers of the Clipper Race have asked LSYC to host an information session about the Clipper Race on Saturday next, 16th July. The session will take place at 12.00 on Saturday at the Clubhouse in Fahan.

Lough Swilly Yacht Club has a long association with the Race, with several of our members and ex members involved in key positions. We look forward to hearing about the race to date and plans for recruitment of volunteers to future races. It should be an interesting event.

Everybody is welcome, members and non-members.

I hope we can manage a good turnout – you never know who might show up!
