Boatbuilding materials

An interesting offer from John Rutzen ……

Hello,

I would like to know if anyone in the yacht club is into boatbuilding. The reason I ask is that I have quite a lot of boatbuilding materials I want to sell. I built a clinker ply sailing yawl about 15 years ago and have sailed it on the Swilly quite a few times but not recently. I am moving house and still have some super quality marine ply , brazilian mahogany , and West System materials for epoxy boatbuilding that I want to clear out. I also have a number of books on the subject. Please could you ask if anyone is interested and to get in touch with me at this email address. I live in Linsfort.

Annual Dinner Dance 11 November 2016

The Annual Dinner Dance will take place in the Red Door Restaurant on 11 November 2016. The order of events (subject to confirmation of details) will be:

  • 7.00pm Commodore’s Reception
  • 8.00pm Dinner, followed by
  • prize giving
  • Dancing to Sudacreme

The price per ticket is €50.

Usually the tables are organised by boats, so could I ask skippers to let me know how many you would like to book for your table – even an estimate will do at this early stage.

Also, if individuals or small groups would prefer to join a mixed table, please let me know and I will organise.

I would really appreciate an early indication of whether you hope to attend with an estimate of numbers. I realise that this may change, but an early idea of numbers would greatly facilitate planning. Let me know at: ebrendan@aol.com, or by phone/text on +44 (0)7802 436582.

Return of Trophies

It is time for those who won trophies last year to return them so that they can be prepared for the prize giving at this year’s dinner dance on 11/11/2016.
