Dinghy Regatta Sunday 23rd August

Come along for a day of light-hearted competition on Fahan Creek and Lough Swilly.
Open to dinghies and dinghy sailors from all local clubs, and sailors with limited experience (Level 2 and Level 3).
We are delighted that our friends from Rathmullan and Lough Foyle are planning to join us on the day.

Class A: Pico one-design
Class B: PY Dinghy Handicap

Entry Fee: 5 euros per boat

Moville Dinghy Regatta -1st August 2015

Notice of Race

  • The regatta will be governed by the rules as defined in the racing rules of sailing 2013-2016
  • Any rule(s) amendments or changes will appear in full in the sailing instructions on the morning of registration

Registration schedule

  • Entry fee: €20 per boat
  • Registration: Saturday the 1st of August from 0900-1030
  • Open to all classes of dinghy
  • Sailing instructions will be available at registration
  • All racing to commence at 11am.

Lough Swilly “Worlds” Regatta Weekend

Here are the outline arrangements for the regatta weekend.

FAHAN REGATTA – SATURDAY 1 AUGUST

07:25 HW 4.21m

08:45 Registration in the Clubhouse, €30 per boat, sailing instructions will be available from the clubhouse.

09:00 Skipper’s briefing

09:15 end of clubhouse activity

11:30 Start of first race, in the vicinity of Spit/Saltpans/Kinnegar. Ladyhawk is Committee Boat

19:30 Two course meal in the Clubhouse, €15 or £13 per head

followed by prize-giving and DJ

BUNCRANA REGATTA – SUNDAY 2 AUGUST

08:10 HW 4.32m

11:30 Start of first race, in the vicinity of Spit/Saltpans/Kinnegar. Drama Queen is Committee Boat

19:30 The Barbecue will be lit, bring your own food. No charge. Background music in the bar.

Prizegiving during the evening.

RATHMULLAN REGATTA – MONDAY 3 AUGUST

08:50 HW 4.34m

12:00 Start of first race, in the vicinity of Rathmullan Pier. Drama Queen is Committee Boat

There will also be racing for dinghies organised by Rathmullan Sailing Club, LSYC boats welcome.

17:00 (approx) Prizegiving in the White Harte after racing.

Arrangements subject to the vagaries of our 2015 summer weather, so keep checking for updates.

Foyle Sailability 7 August – Volunteers Required

It’s that time again! We are on the countdown to our final official Foyle Sailability date – 7 August from 12-3pm in Greencastle (on the water).

I’m sure that you will all agree that we have enjoyed a very successful season and we intend to continue this right to the end.

As always we cannot function without the goodwill of our volunteers (and good weather) and we have been so lucky with both to date.

Can you let us know if you are available to help out on the 7th August from 11am sharp to approx 4pm (this is also the first day of Greencastle regatta, with blessing of the fleet on this day)

We would appreciate if you could respond by Friday morning (31st July) 10am with whatever time you can offer us, as we are planning to meet then to try and finalise arrangements.
