Clipper Race

Please see below an email I received from the Loughs Agency about the Clipper Race:

“As the Clipper crew’s make their way to New York before crossing the Atlantic Ocean to the Foyle, I wanted follow up on the last email I sent about the Foyle Maritime Festival.

This is the third time the Clipper race has visited Derry-Londonderry and the hospitality and warmth exuded by the locals has made it an exciting and fitting climax after the final ocean crossing in the 40,000 nautical mile circumnavigation. The Foyle Maritime Festival is centred around the stopover and will run from 9 – 17 July and promises to be even bigger and better than ever before. We hope to see you here, enjoying the music, food and the craic!

Looking good for Midsummer Barbecue at Macamish

The weather forecast is looking pretty good for the midsummer barbecue on Saturday. High water is at 6.18pm. so the plan is to leave the marina at approximately 4.00pm, in time to be ashore at Macamish, light barbecues, cook and be eating around 6.00pm.”

Anyone who want to get back that night can then get back into the marina up until about 8.30pm, depending on your draft. Of course, the “stopouts” can stay all night, if they choose and get back in the morning.

Please bring your own barbecue, together with the food and drink you need!
