Portsalon P&Q -Sun 23rd

All,
The Portsalon Pint and Quart is due to start tomorrow (23rd) at 10am.
As this is a pursuit race the first boat will start at 10am.
If you intend sailing please let Fergal or Kieran know.

Melmore Rally – Sat 8th Aug

All,

We are scheduled to run the Melmore Rally (Official) tomorrow Sat 8th at 9am.

Forecast is light and this should present another challenge…

Finish line is a transit between Bar rocks and Sessiagh Rocks. Please submit your time to the OD at the race end.

Regatta’s 2020

The Annual LSYC Regatta’s will commence tomorrow with the first race scheduled for 15:30hrs. It is important that we assemble at the start area (Spit / Salt Pans) for 15:30hrs. Sailing instructions will be distributed to competitors before leaving the marina. Further instructions will be available before the commencement of racing on VHF Channel 6.
The OD will announce the course to be followed over VHF and refer to the course notes in the sailing instructions. If you plan to sail on a white sail handicap please inform the OD before the start of the race.

Buncrana Regatta, 16:00hrs assemble Spit

Rathmullan Regatta 12:00hrs assemble at Pier, Rathmullan
2 races, weather dependant.

We will attempt to complete the schedule as above within the time constraints of the tide allowing sufficient time to return to the marina.

Upcoming Races/Regatta News

This Saturday 25th July will see the Portsalon Bells, starting at 9am sharp due to tides. Race detail to be announced on the day by the Sailing secretary / OD.

Sunday 26th July is Fairley 1 with the race starting at 9.30am, course to be announced on the day by the Sailing secretary / OD.

This brings us nicely to the annual regatta’s starting with the Fahan Regatta on Saturday 1st August.

Agenda is as follows,

Saturday racing commences at 15.30hrs,

Sunday racing commences at 16.00hrs

and Monday racing commences at 12.00hrs

Unlike previous years we will forego the pre-race debriefing for skippers and announce the racing over VHF

As previously announced all participating boats must provide a valid VPRS certificate.
