Lifeboat Regatta Sat 2nd Oct

All,

This weekend is the Lifeboat Regatta.  Race start is 2pm at Fahan.  I am hoping to fit 2 races into the afternoon.   It’ll be a super Saturday style event with back to back races so prepare for a rapid turn and depart again.  Your finish time of race 1 is your start time of race 2.  Please prepare your stopwatch for this!!

Forecast is Southerly so should get away with a nice kit run down the Lough. 😊

After the race we will retire back to the clubhouse for some refreshments and hopefully we will have some representation of the lifeboat crew in attendance.

Please show your support for the invaluable service that the RNLI shows us without question.

Looking forward to seeing you all Saturday.

Annual Prize-giving 2021.

All,
The dinner dance date that was entered into the club handbook at the time of going to print was a provisional due to ongoing pandemic.

As we did not know how this year would play out the date was lightly pencilled in to keep you aware of a date of some kind that we really wanted to keep.

The revised date will probably be early November.
A firm confirmation date will follow very soon..

For the newbies in the club, this is a black tie affair…

This should provide you with adequate time to get that new frock you have been looking at now for some time and an excuse to wear it…

And for the ladies, you can also kit your man out in his finery too with a daper Tuxedo, OR frock, what ever fancies your tickle!!!

Railway Tavern Regatta – 4th Sep

All,
Tomorrow is the Railway Tavern Regatta.  The intention is to run 2 races back to back.  Racing is due to start at 3pm.  It is essential that we get started close to 3.30 with the forecast being light and we want to get 2 races in.  The second race will follow straight after the first.  Might be super style.  More details tomorrow..
Post racing we will head into the Tavern for food at approx 6:30.

Portsalon Pint & Quart – Sun 29th

All,
The race for Sun will start at 10am at the start line in Fahan.  The course will round Swillymore to port and then finish at Portsalon.  The finish line will be a transit with the line of the pier and no more than 50 metres from the end of the pier.
This will be a pursuit race as normal.  Gerry Fearon will organise the timings according to a boats handicap.
If you can please confirm your participation on Sunday by email or by text message to me and I will pass on the numbers to Gerry.
