Welcome to the 2023 Sailing Season
Dear members
A very warm welcome to the new sailing season, and the programme for 2023. As always, we want to encourage participation, fair competition and good fun on the water.
Race Declaration Form
In line with arrangements at many other clubs, and following the success of this system in previous years, we are continuing the use of a Race Declaration Form. The form will be used to collect race information and confirm the membership status of all participating sailors. There will be a small fee of €5 (or £5) for visitors wishing to race on members’ boats, and a campaign to encourage interested non-sailors to come along and try crewing.
The first visit is free, and the limit of six races as a visitor has not been changed. If a visitor decides to become a member, they will be entitled to a 50% discount in the first year, and any race levies will also be deducted from their first year subscription.
Race Declaration Forms must be submitted to the Sailing Officer after racing along with any fees due. Race Declaration form is available in the club house and on-line here.
NOTE: The Link for the current days race expires at midnight. A submission after midnight is not permitted unless the race ends after 11pm in which case an extension until midday the following day will be permissible.
NOTE: You have until midnight of the day of the race to put a declaration in. After midnight then you forfeit any points you may have earned.
Race regulations are provided in the LSYC Handbook. A summary is available here. Such rules here will supersede rules in print.
