Sailing School starts 9 July

This year the LSYC Sailing School will operate from Monday 9th July to Friday 17th August, with Johnny Coyle as Senior Instructor.

Courses will run on weekdays, with a minimum class size of 5 and a maximum of 8.

Contact Conor Desmond for further details and to book a place: conordesmond1966@hotmail.com, mobile +44 (7703) 583420

LSYC will be assessed as an accredited ISA Sailing Centre during an early course, thanks to hard work by Conor, James, James and Johnny to prepare for the assessment. Following accreditation, all sailing school participants will be able to gain ISA Sailing Course certificates, and progress through the training scheme.

Women on the Water and Junior Helm Results

Race results for the Woman on the Water (Siobhan!) and Junior Helm races have been posted.

Well done to Siobhan, who kept the crew of Niamh under control on a very wet, very gusty Saturday afternoon, and well done to Cian Margey winning the Junior Helmsman Race on Sunday on board Faustina.

Creek 5 Rescheduled

Race Creek 5, which was abandoned due to lack of wind, has been rescheduled for Club Fleet to Tue 17 July 2012, 6pm start, HW 18:29, by agreement with the skippers.

A decision for IRC class will be taken shortly.

Women on the Water and Junior Helm this weekend

This is the weekend that many skippers fear, when they hand over control to the ladies and younger generation and may be shown up!

There are two prizes in the WOW race on Saturday – Lady Helm and All Women Crew – start is at 14:30, and the Junior Helm race for helmsmen under 21 starts at 15:30 on Sunday.

Good luck to all taking part.
